Hidden in the heart of Hay on Wye, elevated in clearings between tree’s on the bank of the River Wye is where you will find By the Wye’s luxury Safari Tents. Off-grid woodland glamping, perched on platforms, floating out above the woodland floor, relax on the deck with the River Wye babbling at your feet and the expanse of the Brecon Beacons dark sky reserve glittering overhead.
The Treetop glamping accommodation is as beautiful as its riverside location. Thoughtfully positioned Safari Tents are elevated on stilts so you sleep up in the tree canopy. Combining the rustic eco-friendly practicalities of a campsite, we allow families, friends and couples to enjoy the luxury of a boutique hotel with the comforts of home, under canvas. Each eco-friendly tent has its own en-suits bathroom, complete with hot running water, flushing loo and basin and power showers. Our glamping site offers luxury accommodation under canvas with all the creature comforts and the wilderness on your doorstep.
By the Wye is camping with one important difference, the luxury accommodation is already pitched for your when you arrive. Safari Tents comes with roaring campfires, beautiful beds, sumptuous sofas and fully equipped kitchens. It’s the ultimate in luxury glamping and is enough to tempt even the most reluctant of campers out into the woods on holiday. Outside the tents is a covered deck area with seating to make the most of the incredible riverside views with either a firepit of BBQ for those all-important cook-outs.

"What an amazing find . We were looking for something a little different and this ticked all the boxes. The owners were so helpful and friendly and absolutely everything we needed was there. Clean spacious and organised perfectly. Even the welcome pack was fab with marshmallows for the fire. The children loved the wood carved play area and haven’t stopped talking about it. Glamping in Dec is cold but they supplied plenty of blankets hot water bottles and rugs and plenty of wood. We Would definitely Recommend this place to any one looking for a break from the rat race. "We spent a fabulous weekend here during the Summer and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a break to get away from it all but still enjoy the comforts of home! The welcome basket on arrival was a lovely touch and Edith was on hand to deal with any queries we had. We ordered a meat pack which was so generous it lasted us two nights! We really enjoyed cooking this on the firepit/bbq and finishing off toasting some of the marshmallows from the welcome basket. Hay-on-Wye is only a short walk away and after venturing in on a hot afternoon we were very glad to be able to jump into the river for some wild swimming to cool off once we were back to our tent."
